A Warm Welcome at the Gate
Teachers greet each child by name at the gate. For a three- or four-year-old, being addressed warmly by name makes them feel welcomed and settles them in before the day begins.
Circle Time
Once settled in, children gather on the carpet for circle time. This is where the day truly begins. Children take part in attendance songs, a good morning rhyme, and a quick chat about the date, the weather, or how everyone is feeling.
Circle time is more than an icebreaker. It gives children practice at sitting together, listening to others, and speaking up in a group.
Focused Activity Block
Kids Kastle’s activity-based learning approach shapes this block. Depending on the day, this could be:

Outdoor Play
Children move to the play area for free play and structured games like running, climbing, and ball games. These activities build gross motor skills and give children a chance to be active before the next learning block. This is also where children build friendships outside the classroom.
Story or Music Circle
This block includes storytelling, puppet shows, or music and movement. A teacher might read aloud with props and voices, or lead an action song. This block builds listening skills, vocabulary, and imagination.
Free Play / Corner Activities
Children choose from set-up corners: a dress-up corner, a building-blocks corner, a puzzle table, an art corner. Unlike teacher-led activity blocks, this time is child-led. Here, children quietly practise independence and decision-making: what to build, what to play, and how long to stay with one activity before moving to the next.
Wind-Down and Recap
Before pickup, children gather again for a short recap of what they learned, sang, or made that day and help tidy the classroom. This small routine of tidying up after themselves builds responsibility without it feeling like a chore.
Pickup
Teachers hand children over to parents or the bus with a quick note if anything noteworthy happened: a new word learned, a shy child who spoke up, a small milestone reached.
